oUR story
Comfort Legacy Foundation (CLF) was founded in March 2018. It is a non-profit organization that primarily supports malnourished children, and creates awareness on healthy lifestyle choices, through advocacy for good nutrition and healthy lifestyle choices, to prevent and manage malnutrition. Our vision is to prevent and manage all forms of malnutrition, especially among children under five (5) years. We do so by providing emotional, instrumental and informational support for the public, and monetary support, especially for vulnerable families.
Our goals are:
• To solicit for external funds and products to enable the foundation support malnourished children monthly and yearly (Feed a Hungry Child Project – FHC).
•To educate the public about healthy lifestyle choices and manage noncommunicable diseases (Optimum Nutrition Care Project – ONC).
•To adopt innovative strategies to provide internal revenue for running the foundation (Create a Support Project – CAS).
We plan to reach these goals through:
•Partnership with at least one organization annually to provide monetary revenue for supporting malnourished children.
•Update of our social media handles (Facebook, Instagram and Youtube) with healthful lifestyle choices, at least weekly.
•Provision of nutritional management for diet related conditions to the public at subsidized rates, and sell products/foundation paraphernalia, to generate revenue, for the running of the foundation.
The CAS Project
The CAS Project was rolled out in June 2022. Under the CAS Project, we have Funchel Products. Currently, Funchel Products consist of Funchel Laundry Detergent and Funchel Granola; approved by the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) as FDA/C.22-91068 and FDA/Ce 22-445, respectively. Our CAS Project also seeks to set up women, the youth and needy in businesses as we reach out to different regions.
Progress of CLF
CLF is six (6) years old and continues to provide nutrition education, provide monthly support for malnourished children and undertake yearly donations.
Sponsors and Partners
We currently run the foundation using revenue from Funchel Products. We encourage everyone to make Funchel a household name in order to help us generate revenue, to support the malnourished child, and provide nutrition and health education to the public.
CLF Donations
Over the years, CLF has supported malnourished children monthly by providing money, ready-to-use-therapeutic foods and cereals to communities through health care facilities in Ashanti and Ahafo Regions. We have also conducted cooking demonstrations during our nutrition education sessions in communities, and skill training in soap making to help the women improve their livelihoods.
Malnourished Cases
Nineteen (19) cases of malnourished and sick children have benefited from CLF FHC Project.
Challenges
•Lack of necessary financial support to reach out to many malnourished children monthly and nationwide.
•Health care professionals are unable to follow up supported cases to the end.
Way Forward
Actively solicit for funding to undertake all CLF activities towards achievements of goals through our CLF Projects.
Conclusion
Frequent and consistent social media engagement. With the right financial push, partnership and resources, many more malnourished children will be saved across the country.
