Research Nutritionist
Helena Nti is a Research Nutritionist specializing in maternal and child health, sustainable food systems, and non-communicable diseases, with a strong interest in psychoneuroendocrinology. She lectures at the University of Health and Allied Sciences, Ghana, and has authored over 13 peer-reviewed publications. Helena has taught and mentored students across Nutrition, Medicine, Biochemistry, and Sports Sciences.
She has received several awards, including the ISPNE Early Career Top Abstract Award (2024) and the NIH-UCD/PhD fellowship (2019). A founding member of the Ghana Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Helena directs Funchel and leads the Comfort Legacy Foundation, promoting health advocacy and science communication. She also serves on the Scientific and Education Committees of ISPNE.
Medical Doctor and Clinical Toxicologist
Bright Boafo Boamah (MD, PhD) is a Clinical Scientist specializing in human health risk assessment, focusing on microbial and non-microbial exposures in vulnerable groups. His research uses molecular tools to assess health impacts, particularly in pediatric, geriatric, and pregnant populations.
He is a Visiting Research Scientist at the Canadian Food Inspection Agency and a Sessional Lecturer in Clinical Toxicology at the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons. With over 10 peer-reviewed publications, Dr. Boamah is a member of SOT, SETAC, and CSFS. His work supports evidence-based clinical and public health strategies to protect at-risk communities.
Sports Management Expert
Frank Appiah Kusi is a Ph.D. holder in Sport Marketing from Philippine Christian University, Manila, Philippines and a lecturer in Sport Management at the School of Sports and Exercise Medicine of University of Health and Allied Sciences, Ho, Ghana. Appiah Kusi started his career in Sports and Exercise Science from KNUST, Kumasi, Ghana, and was selected among the winners of the Vladimir Potanin Foundation Scholarship to study Master of Sport Administration at Russia International Olympic University, Sochi, Russia. Appiah Kusi also holds certifications in FIFA Diploma in Football Medicine, Safeguarding Essentials in Football, and Safeguarding Policy Implementation.
HSEQ and Sustainability Consultant
Edward Debrah is a Chartered Environmentalist and Sustainability Professional, Chartered Waste and Resources Manager and an accomplished HSEQ professional with 13+ years in diverse industries.
He has received multiple awards for his contributions to health and safety, including the 2024 UK Environment 100.
An accomplished trainer, he delivers accredited training for Nebosh, IEMA, IOSH, PECB and shares insights as a columnist and speaker on health safety and sustainability.
Clinical Exercise Therapist / Rehabilitation Specialist
Priscilla has a degree in Sports and Exercise Science and a Masters degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics. She is the CEO of Besthands Therapy clinic where she has practiced as a rehabilitation specialist (Exercise and Sports Therapist) for over 10 years helping people recover from Sports Injuries and musculoskeletal conditions using curative exercises and manual therapy as the mode of treatment.
She is a licensed Dietitian and an Ass. Lecturer in the department of Sports and Exercise Medical Sciences, School of Sports and Exercise Medicine.
Advocacy and Community Service Lead
With a background in Nutrition and Food Science from the University of Ghana, Legon, Frema is dedicated to enhancing maternal and child health.
Through years of working with women and children under five, she has witnessed firsthand the profound impact of nutrition on their health and cognitive development. This experience fuels her passion for delivering health and nutrition education, empowering women and children to achieve optimal well-being.
As a food processor, Frema applies this expertise to craft nutritious, healthy products that support good health.
